I’m really excited to announce the early release of Tycho’s new album “Dive.” CD, vinyl, and direct download available over at the to ISO50 Shop. So far, I’ve ran through the album three or four times and I can’t get enough. This new music from Tycho has been long awaited and has far from disappointed. Looks like I’ll have my music set for my autumn/winter design sessions.
Visit ISO50 for more info.
I am also super excited for “The Years” EP by Memoryhouse which was just released late last month. The video above is a full stream of the EP with new and unreleased visuals by Jamie Harley. Jamie does a wonderful job capturing the emotion and feel of the music in the visuals with the dreamy, washed out, and psychedelic imagery. I’m really anxious for the full length LP now.
Also worth viewing: Quiet America by Memoryhouse.

Here is the artwork for Tycho’s new album “Dive and the first single from it “Hours.” Scott Hansen never seizes to disappoint musically and artistically. What always draws me into Scott’s artwork for his music is his photography aesthetics. The colors, imagery, and mood are always in unison with the music. I can’t wait to hear the rest of the album.
The “Hours” single is now available on iTunes.
Launch 2011 is fast approaching. This premier event will entail displays of art, graphic design, photography, and major emphasis on fashion. This year’s music headliner is Neon Indian, a psychedelic synth-pop artist whose sound has been compared to a cross between New Order and a saw wave cutting a Doobie Brothers song in half. Currently touring with Sleigh Bells, they’ve also played the late night stages of Kimmell and Fallon, and received high praise from the New York Times, Pitchfork, and Rolling Stone, just to name a few.
Launch Festival is an invigorating audio and visual experience you won’t want to miss. This third annual festival will be on July 23rd at The Greens Hotel in Sacramento. For more information visit 5432Launch.com or to buy tickets online visit Ticketleap.com.
Vodpod videos no longer available.
I don’t know how this video almost slipped past me. I was doing my daily check up on GraphicHug and instantly recognized the artwork Alexander Brown, aka Brownboy, created for James Blakes’ self entitled album. He really did a superb job creating a unique and consistent look across the entire board of the project including the music video for the Wilhelm Scream, photography, and album cover art. Check out more of his work here.
Check out the live performance of ‘The Wilhelm Scream’ and official video for ‘Limit to Your Love’ on my previous post.
So after being introduced to Toro Y Moi‘s first album Causers of This and being obsessed over it they have another album being released just around the corner: Underneath the Pine. The album as a whole has a different feel compared to their epic first album but after listening to it the whole way through I am finding myself in loop. It still creates a strong atmosphere of nostalgic lo-fi inherent in Causers of This. Here are some of my favorite track from Underneath the Pine set to be released March 22 on Carpark:
Toro Y Moi – New Beat
Toro Y Moi – Divina
